Happy Hippo Backpackers

The Happy Hippo backpackers lodge does not acually currently exist however the development is going ahead in anticipation of the 2010 Soccer World Cup. The fact that the lodge is not yet completed and operational meant that there was nothing that could be used on the site in terms of image content etc. The site did not require any form of automation via database or content management features. These features will be added once the lodge is operational.

The Happy Hippy is a backpacker budget accommodation hostel located in Durban, South Africa. Opening in December 2004 the Happy Hippo will provide budget accommodation for the international independent traveler visiting Durban. The fact that the establishment is only opening in December and is still under construction meant that there was very little in the way of photographs and specific information about the place. Therefore it was decided to enlist the services of Legendary South African Cartoonist Lencel to create the Happy Hippo character that could be used to provide some image content for use on the site. Once the establishment is fully operational the site will be upgraded to include a client updatable content management system.
